Maurice Lacroix, a distinguished Swiss luxury watchmaker based in Zürich, was established in 1975 as a brand under Desco von Schulthess (1889), a company with origins in the silk trade and luxury watch representation. Initially producing private-label watches, Maurice Lacroix quickly gained prominence, leading to the acquisition of a casemaker in 1989, which allowed for in-house production. The brand's ascent in the 1990s helped it rise to prominence in the luxury watch sector. Today, Maurice Lacroix boasts a global presence in over 60 countries and is majority-owned by the Swiss holding company Diethelm Keller & SiberHegner.
